My friend Allison just got an amazing tattoo…
A bowl of shrimp cocktail.
“When my father died in 2022I wanted to get a tattoo to celebrate him,” he explained. At first he thought about getting his signature, or maybe a stop watch, since he always had one on him. But when he saw the shrimp cocktail, he knew it was perfect.
“It was my father obsessed with shrimps,” he said. “If it was on the menu, he would have ordered it. Every time we went to the buffet, he only ate. his plate would be a shrimp plate. Shrimp cocktail, popcorn shrimp, coconut shrimp… man loved shrimp.”

“People ask me about my tattoo all the time, so I get to talk about my dad, which feels good,” Alison says. “Now I was thinking about what tattoos I would do for other people I love. it’s a fun exercise. I ask the question even at parties. People come up with really funny answers.”
