With its online services now ended, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is officially gearing up to launch as a one-time purchase on December 2nd. Previously allowing players to purchase in-game currencies for items, fortune cookies and other goodies, the game is set to shift in a vast way with no more micro-transactions whatsoever. Players will, however, be able to keep their progress if they’re sure to link their account before June 2nd 2025, ensuring any purchased goods aren’t lost.
While it is a much simpler game within the Animal Crossing franchise, Pocket Camp has always been widely loved by fans particularly for its plethora of detailed furnishings, with many even yearning for such items to be brought across to New Horizons. From elaborate bookshelves to bunk beds, to garden pergolas and more, every item always felt very meticulously crafted and considered. Many returning NPCs, events and areas also added to the mobile experience, still offering quite a few things to do for daily check-ins and giving players reasons to keep returning.
Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete Has A Busy December
Over 50 New Items Can Be Unlocked In This Event
Seasonal events weren’t uncommon in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, allowing players to get fun new items, fortune cookies and complete challenges that changed over the course of the year. With the new game still set to release, players have been teased with a selection of new bespoke items to add to their collection, and this time real money won’t be a factor in obtaining them. Perfect for the festive, winter season, there’s now a vast array of new things offer that can now all be picked up without any in-game transactions to be seen.
With over 50 unique items to unlock, players can enjoy everything from cute new outfits to large Christmas trees, teddies and piles of presents to decorate for the holidays. There may also be presents containing gifts to enjoy the thrill of opening too, as gamers enjoy what this new gem has in store. While it’s yet to be confirmed how players will now unlock these items, it would be likely that similar events from the online services will be making a comeback such as through gardening as well as opening fortune cookies.
Pocket Camp Complete Is Equal For Everyone
No More Micro-Transactions
Despite previously being free-to-play, Pocket Camp did give some players an advantage in the past for spending money, getting access to more unique items and ways to decorate and therefore being able to create more elaborate builds . While it didn’t outright affect gameplay, many were unable to enjoy the game to the fullest without needing to spend real money, missing out on some key elements and potential for decorating tot he fullest. Particularly through items like furniture that required substantial leaf tickets or fortune cookies to get a hold of, most gamers were limited to what items they could buy and how they could decorate their areas.

Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete Includes Another New Currency Great For Returning Players
With the release of Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete, Nintendo includes a feature with players from the first Pocket Camp game in mind.
Some of the game’s most stunning furniture items were those locked behind fortune cookies, an item that required players to make use of leaf tickets to buy. As leaf tickets were primarily obtained by spending real money, this ensured that anyone who wanted the best and most extraordinary of event items needed to pay. Purchasing a complete set of items was also just as much of a challenge though, as the process of opening fortune cookies was luck based and often also gave players duplicates, requiring people to pay even more than they may have anticipated.
Now though, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete is set to be equal for all, giving players access to any item they’ve dreamed of before. While items may still cost certain tickets in this new event, players will no longer be required to spend real money to unlock anything, earning these tickets in new ways like challenges. Now as there’s an even playing field, anyone can unlock every in-game item and truly feel the excitement of each event for themselves, fully able to take advantage of differing items and themed decor for builds and designs.
Everything Depends On Leaf Tokens In Pocket Camp
A New Currency Rules All In Pocket Camp Complete
With the removal of leaf tickets, players will now need to use leaf tokens in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete to buy exclusive in-game items. Essentially replacing the original currency, these will be similar to what players would’ve used for fortune cookies, luxury furniture or skipping long cool-downs when building items. Instead, though, these will be earnable completely for free.
Obtained through a variety of in-game stretch goals, such as requiring the player to complete challenges like aiding visitors with tasks, these should be relatively easy to get a hold of. While it’s yet to be seen how many of these tickets can be earned at once and how quickly, there’s a lot of promise that players will no longer be limited by expensive, unobtainable furniture and items overall. With that in mind, it likely won’t be difficult for players to enjoy the bountiful complete access that Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete will now offer, getting a hold of a variety of items previously held behind luck and micro-transactions.
As the game shifts away from requiring real money, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete shows a lot of promise. Packed with content and events that players might’ve already experienced but been limited in what they could afford to access, it’ll in many ways feel like a whole new experience in itself. While there’s still time to see if this new offline version of the game will succeed, it’s looking to have a promising launch with this December event and earnables.
