Manchester United’s new head coach Ruben Amorim has reportedly not requested any new signings for the January window and is focused on developing the current squad.
Manchester United‘s new head coach Ruben Amorim has not requested any new signings for the January transfer window, according to a report.
The Portuguese tactician secured his first victory for his new employers on Thursday night with a hard-fought 3-2 win over Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League.
That result took the Red Devils to six matches unbeaten, while they have suffered only one loss in their last 11 matches across all competitions.
However, the reality for United in the Premier League is stark, as they have managed just four wins in their 12 matches so far, leaving them well off the pace.

Amorim focused on developing current squad
Heading into this weekend’s fixtures, Man United sit 15 points behind league leaders Liverpool, highlighting the significant gap Amorim’s side must bridge to compete at the top.
Despite this, Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol suggests that the 39-year-old head coach has not made any demands regarding new recruits for the upcoming winter transfer window.
The report adds that the Portuguese boss is focused instead on working with and developing the current squad of players at his disposal.
Since arriving, Amorim has been linked with bringing several of his former players from Sporting Lisbon to Old Trafford, including winger Geovany Quenda and striker Viktor Gyokeres.
While bringing in new talent in January may not be a priority for Amorim, TEAMtalk suggest that the club have held discussions with Quenda’s agent Jorge Mendes following his rapid rise in Lisbon.

Man United eyeing record-extending win against Everton
Amorim will be looking to notch up his first Premier League victory on Sunday afternoon when they play host to Sean Dyche‘s Everton.
If the Red Devils are able to secure victory in that match, they will extend the all-time Premier League record for wins against a single opponent which currently stands at 41.
United picked up win numbers 40 and 41 against the Toffees last season when they beat them 3-0 at Goodison Park and 2-0 at Old Trafford respectively.
Everton have not beaten the 13-time Premier League champions in a leage match at Old Trafford since December 2013.
