The President of the Permanent Electoral Authority (AEP), Toni Greblă, stated that, so far, the order of candidates in the first round of the presidential elections has not changed, since there are still votes for be counted by two or three counts. , reports Euronews.
“There are still 2-3 counts to be counted. Not all the votes will be counted in the diaspora. No change in the order of the candidates has been noticed,” said Toni Greblă.
He stated that the decision regarding the resumption or not of the first round will not be postponed, even if not all the votes of the diaspora will arrive in time.
All votes from the diaspora will arrive in Romania from December 3, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) announced on Friday, which predicted that the delivery of votes to the country had already begun.
The announcement comes in the context where the results of the account must be completed from Sunday 1 December at 10 pm, according to a decision of the BEC, and the CCR will meet on Monday 2 December at 5 pm. to take the decision in the case of the request for annulment of the first round of the presidential elections, presented by Cristian Terheș.
Thus, it is possible that the decision of the CCR will be taken without recording the result of the recount from the polling stations located in more distant countries, which could not be brought to the country in time.
The appeal of MEP Cristian Terheș against the validation of the election results entered the discussion of the CCR on Thursday, November 28, but the constitutional judges postponed their decision and requested the verification and recount of all ballots – an unprecedented decision in Romania.
