Hamas broadcast on Saturday a new video recording of one of the Israelis taken hostage on October 7, 2023, when the Palestinian Islamist movement attacked Israel coming from the Gaza Strip, reports News.ro citing the agency France Press.
The video, the recording date of which cannot be verified, shows a young man speaking in English to US President-elect Donald Trump and in Hebrew to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He asks the Israelis to put pressure on the government to release him and all the hostages still held in Gaza.
The family of Edan Alexander, a young man with dual citizenship, Israeli and American, authorized the publication of the video.

“There are still hostages alive”
“The shocking video of Edan, an Israeli-American citizen, is clear proof that, despite the rumors, there are still hostages alive and suffering tremendously,” said the Hostage Families Forum, a group that represents most of the families held hostage. in Gaza. “One year after the first single agreement, it is clear to everyone: hostages can only be taken through an agreement,” the Forum added in a statement.
Since the beginning of the Gaza war, there has been only one ceasefire, in November 2023, during which 105 hostages were released in an agreement that also led to the release of 240 Palestinian prisoners held by Israel. Since then, seven hostages have been released by the Israeli army.
Among the hostages there are still foreigners, six Thais and one Nepalese, and many people with dual citizenship.
During the unprecedented attack by Hamas commandos on October 7, 2023, 251 people were kidnapped in Israeli territory. In total, 97 people remain hostages in Gaza, of which 34 have been declared dead by the army.
