Champions Bayer Leverkusen will hope to reignite their title defence on Saturday when they welcome strugglers St Pauli to BayArena in their 13th Bundesliga game of the season.
Xabi Alonso’s side are third with 23 points and defeated Union Berlin 2-1 on November 30, whereas the visitors are fourth last in 15th place with 11 points but they did emerge as 3-1 victors against Holstein Kiel last Friday.
We say: Bayer Leverkusen 2-1 St Pauli
Considering their injuries in the forward line, Leverkusen could struggle to create many chances in the final third, and St Pauli are unlikely to lose by multiple goals.
However, the hosts’ record at home is phenomenal and they are in good form, so it would be surprising if they did not emerge victorious on Saturday.

Vincent Kompany’s Bayern Munich will look to bounce back from defeat when they welcome Heidenheim to Allianz Arena on Saturday in their 13th Bundesliga game of the season.
The Bavarians were beaten 1-0 by Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday in the DFB-Pokal, though they are first in the top flight with 30 points, but their opponents are third last in 16th place with just 10 points and lost 4-0 against Eintracht Frankfurt in the league on December 1.
We say: Bayern Munich 3-0 Heidenheim
Kompany will expect a strong reaction from his players given the team are winless in their last two, and considering their exceptional home record, it would be surprising if they dropped points again on Saturday.
Additionally, Heidenheim are in poor form and have struggled to find the back of the net in recent games, so the hosts should come into the clash as clear favourites.

Eintracht Frankfurt seek five Bundesliga wins on the trot when they host an Augsburg side 11 places adrift in the table in Saturday’s gameweek 13 clash at Deutsche Bank Park.
Dino Toppmoller’s men, beaten by RB Leipzig in the DFB-Pokal last 16 midweek, seek a return to winning ways against an opponent with a wretched road record this term.
We say: Eintracht Frankfurt 2-0 Augsburg
Even though they have conceded six goals on home soil, only Dortmund (19) have outdone Frankfurt’s 16 goals as hosts in the Bundesliga this term.
Despite the disappointment of losing to Leipzig in the Pokal, Die Adler should secure a routine victory against an Augsburg side without a road win since March to extend the visitors’ nine-match winless league sequence on their travels.

Winless VfL Bochum enter Saturday’s gameweek 13 clash at Vonovia Ruhrstadion 14 points adrift of Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga table.
The hosts are the only side in Europe’s top five leagues yet to win in 2024-25, and they hope to exploit Bremen’s two-match losing run on their travels.
We say: VfL Bochum 1-2 Werder Bremen
It will be interesting to see if Bochum can build on their only home match under Hecking, which ended in a 1-1 draw with Leverkusen.
While another positive result for the bottom club remains possible, we are backing the highest-scoring team in the bottom half of the table to secure a close victory.

RB Leipzig boss Marco Rose will hope to keep up his side’s winning momentum and save his job on Saturday when his team travel to face Holstein Kiel at Holstein-Stadion in their 13th Bundesliga match of their 2024-25 campaign.
The hosts are second last in 17th place with just five points and were beaten 3-1 by St Pauli in the league on November 29, while Rose’s team are fourth with 21 points but are in dire form despite their 3-0 victory in the DFB-Pokal against Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday.
We say: Holstein Kiel 1-3 RB Leipzig
Though Leipzig have been in poor form, it is difficult to see them failing to achieve victory given the struggles of their hosts.
Leipzig could start the game nervously given they will head into the clash as favourites, but their quality should be enough to take home all three points.

Visitors Borussia Dortmund will be looking to build on the positive aspects of their 1-1 draw with Bayern Munich last weekend when they travel to Borussia-Park where they will face Borussia Monchengladbach in their 13th Bundesliga game of the season on Saturday.
The home team are 10th with 17 points and lost 3-1 against Freiburg on November 30, while BVB are fifth with 20 points and Nuri Sahin’s side appear to have finally found some consistency.
We say: Borussia Monchengladbach 2-2 Borussia Dortmund
Borussia Monchengladbach have been strong at home this term, and though their overall form is mixed, it would not be surprising if they opened the scoring.
However, Dortmund’s performances have significantly improved in recent weeks and they will hope to translate their good home form into better showings on the road.
