Limbus Company is a unique but confusing game, so knowing how to make the best party out of the Identities you’ve got is easier said than done. With over 100 individual versions of the 12 characters on the roster, building your perfect team is overwhelming. There are a few important things you should look for when building your roster.
In Limbus Company, the main thing you should look for when building your roster is synergy rather than outright power, similar to building a character like Sunday from Honkai: Star Rail. While power is important, having characters whose status complements one another can be far more impactful than one strong character. Additionally, you need to consider which Identities have the best E.G.O.s available, influencing which banner you pull when you have the resources.

Best Team Compositions For Limbus Company
New Players Should Focus On Bleed And Burn
There are seven statuses that can be applied by various characters in Limbus Company: Bleed, Burn, Rupture, Poise, Charge, Sinking, and Tremor. Each of these effects works a little differently and, therefore, works best with different characters. Unfortunately, building a whole team around a status doesn’t necessarily mean that you’ll be able to clear any fight with it. For example, even though some of the best Identities right now use the Charge status, their synergy with one another is so low that it’s just not worth truly committing to.

You can also build teams around their ID types, i.e., the “Ring” series, “W-Corp.” characters, etcetera. These characters can work together in a full set, but many can also be taken in pairs or trios and placed on a status-focused team. A full-set team can be harder to pull together if you’re new or playing free-to-play, though the chapter and Mirror Dungeon rewards tend to be pretty generous. Generally, status-focused teams are the simplest type to assemble outside the “ID series” teams, and two of them are stronger than the rest.
Best Bleed Team
Bleed is a classic status effect seen in games across genres, and its power is just as apparent in Limbus Company as in Diablo 4 or Elden Ring, specifically in Mirror Dungeons. The in-game description for Bleed is as follows: “When tossing an attack Coin, take fixed damage by the effect’s Potency. Then, reduce its Count by 1.” Simply put, any time an enemy afflicted with Bleed flips a Coin to attack, they take the same amount of damage as they have Bleed stacks.
Outside of Mirror Dungeons, it’s hard to maintain enough Bleed stacks to get the most out of your team, so consider a hybrid team of Bleed/Poise or Bleed/Envy if you’re going to be running a Bleed team in story content.
With this in mind, you’ll want to play in order to maximize the number of times your enemy is tossing Coins, either through Clashing or allowing them to hit you. In this same vein, you’ll want to avoid staggering your enemies, as they cannot activate their Bleed stacks if they’re not attacking. You’ll also want someone who can apply Nails, which is a secondary Bleed status effect that applies Bleed Potency equal to its Count, plus one, at the start of a turn, after which the Nails Count is halved.
After considering all these factors, here are the best IDs to look for when building a Bleed Team of six, which becomes standard for story content:
ID |
Reasoning |
---|---|
The One Who Grips – Faust |
Faust doesn’t apply Bleed outside of her S1 (first Skill), but the rest of her skills apply Nails, which are essential for maintaining Bleed Count throughout the battle. |
The Middle Little Brother – Merusault |
This Merusault ID applies Bleed Potency on every skill, making him valuable when you’re struggling to get Potency high to take advantage of your Count. |
Hook Office Fixer – Hong Lu |
Hong Lu offers the best of both worlds for a Bleed team by applying both Potency and Count. All three of his skills apply Potency, and the first two apply Count as well, so he’ll be one of the staples of your Bleed team. |
Kurokumo Clan Wakashu – Ryoshu |
Ryoshu both deals and takes advantage of Bleed through her passives and all of her Skills. She’s an excellent damage dealer thanks to her S1, S2, and S3, all doing more damage to Bleeding enemies. |
N Corp. Mittelhammer – Rodion |
Rodion is another Nails character that will help you maintain Bleed Count through all three of her skills. Her third skill is also 5% stronger for each N. Corp ID. With Faust and herself on your team, that’s a flat 10% boost to any S3 hit. |
The Middle Little Sister – Don Quixote |
This ID will synergize with Middle Merusault while also providing pretty high Bleed stacks consistently. Little Sister Don also takes advantage of some Poise, so she can also be useful in a hybrid team. |
It’s important to note that some of these IDs were limited-time banners, so you’re not going to be able to grab them all right away as a new player. However, the philosophies that lead to them being the best still apply, so stay on the lookout for IDs with similar skills and passives when building your Bleed team.
As an alternative ID to field in order to win more Clashes, try The Ring Pointillist Student – Yi Sang
.
Best Burn Team
Burn is similar to Bleed in that your main power is going to be maintained through applying stacks of Burn Count and Potency, which can be harder to do outside of Mirror Dungeons in the same way it is for Bleed. That being said, Burn doesn’t lose count as quickly as Bleed does, so you can stack a higher Potency a bit easier. For maximum Burn damage, here are the IDs you’ll want to field:
ID |
Reasoning |
---|---|
Magic Bullet – Outis |
Outis in this comp will be your most important ID for inflicting Burn through Dark Flame and Magic Bullet application. As these two stack, you’ll apply more and more Burn; Dark Flame applies equivalent to the amount of MB when you use her S2, S3, and Defense, and her S2 applies Burn equal to the Dark Flame stacks on the target. |
Dawn Office Fixer – Sinclair |
Sinclair is a bit fiddly because you must manage your Sanity to get the most out of him. Reach 40 SP using his S3 and winning Clashes, then you can upgrade him into his second form. This second form does extreme amounts of damage and gains more damage for every Burn Count that is on a target. |
Liu Assoc. South Section 4 Director – Rodya |
Rodya’s main job in this comp is applying as much Burn Count as possible. Her S2 and S3 also take advantage of any target with six or more Burn and Burn Count, allowing her to apply 3 Burn to two other targets on the field or deal 30% more damage. Overall, she’s excellent for maintaining Count. |
Liu Assoc. South Section 4 – Ishmael |
Like Rodya, Liu Ishmael is excellent for Burn application as well as Clashing. Her S3 has the capacity for massive damage buffs on targets with higher Burn and Burn Count while also allowing her to chain the Skill under the right conditions. |
Liu Assoc. South Section 6 – Meursault |
Merusault is another Burn Count stacking Machine through his Skills and passives. His S3 also gets bonus Coin power on any target with a five or higher Burn Count, allowing him to still deal damage while applying extra burn on a heads Coin toss. |
Liu Assoc. South Section 4 – Ryōshū |
Ryoshu is excellent in a Burn Comp thanks to all three of her Skills being boosted by having Burn Count on targets. Once you’ve got 6+ stacks onto a target, Ryoshu’s Clash and Coin power both go up by one, and her S3 gains damage on higher Count as well. |

does have a pity system.
For your passive providers, consider LCB Sinner Hong Lu to keep your SP up in both story content and Mirror Dungeons, though this is going to be tougher in the story as there are no E.G.O. Gifts to buff your team like there are in Dungeons. Overall, this comp will change as characters are rebalanced and new characters are released, but this list is a good place to start. As with all gacha games, the “best” teams for you in Limbus Company will always depend on your luck.
