The gendarmes of Buşteni intervened, on Friday, to save four young people, foreign citizens, who were trying to reach the Caraiman Cross, on the Jepii Mici road, but they were not well equipped and could not go further.
“Today, at 2:20 p.m., the inspector of the Prahova County gendarmerie was alerted via SNAU 112, of the fact that 4 young foreigners, aged between 16 and 18 years, who were trying to reach Crucea Caraiman, on the road Jepii Mici, they could no longer advance due to the heavy layer of snow and inadequate equipment,” said the Romanian Gendarmerie. on Friday evening, quoted by News.ro.
A patrol of mountain gendarmes from the Buşteni post moved to the indicated area, located the people in danger and brought them safely to the Buşteni station.
The young people wore sneakers, even though there is snow in the area.
“We remind tourists that the high-altitude tourist routes in the Bucegi mountains are closed during the winter and venturing on them, especially with inadequate equipment, seriously endangers the lives of those who do so imprudently,” they also said the gendarmes.
