Officer Holt suddenly disappears after an incident in On Call‘s episode 3, making it hard not to wonder what happened to him. Introduced in the Amazon Prime Video detective show‘s opening episode, Holt is portrayed as a rookie officer in the Long Beach police department. Unlike Troian Bellisario’s Officer Harmon and Brandon Larracuente’s Officer Diaz, he is not one of the primary characters in On Call. However, he plays a crucial role in making Diaz a little concerned about his collaboration with Harmon by spreading rumors about Harmon’s involvement in another officer’s termination from the police force.
Throughout On Call‘s first three episodes, Holt also appears time and again as Harmon and Diaz deal with the day-to-day crimes in their neighborhood while trying to find Delgado’s killer. However, Holt’s journey reaches an abrupt end in the final moments of the show’s episode 3 when an unexpected confrontation during an investigation takes a violent turn. Since Holt does not appear on-screen after On Call‘s episode 3, his absence raises many questions about what happened to him.

The Attack On Officer Holt Shakes Up Diaz
In On Call‘s episode 3, Diaz and Holt return to the homeless camp they had previously visited to acquire new leads surrounding Delgado’s murder. However, this time around, they navigate the location at night, which significantly reduces their visibility and makes them more vulnerable to potential dangers. They use flashlights to ensure nothing catches them off-guard, but before they can react, a man suddenly emerges from one of the tents in the camp and attacks Holt.

In episode 4, however, On Call reveals that Holt’s tests confirmed he did not get HIV from the needle, but his head was still messed up from the overdose. Given how Holt does not show up till the ending moments of On Call after episode 3 and is not even mentioned after episode 4, it would be safe to assume that he remained off-duty for quite some time while recovering at the hospital.
