The police in Timişoara opened an investigation and are looking for the passenger who threw a firecracker in the driver’s cabin in a tram, reports News.ro. Vatmanul requested the immediate withdrawal to the depot, and employees of the Public Transport Company called medical teams for evaluation.
“On January 10 of this year, the police of the 4th Urban Department were informed by a 50-year-old man that, while he was in the area of Ronat as a vatman, an unknown person allegedly threw firecrackers in the tram cabin. . The police make checks to establish exactly the circumstances in which the event took place, and also to detect and identify the person involved, to apply and legal measures that are required,” IPJ Timiş said on Saturday.
After the incident, the driver was asked to withdraw to the depot, where he was consulted by a medical team.
“On the evening of January 10, 2025, around 20:00, a serious incident disrupted the activity on tram line 5, at the end of the Ronat line. A vatman on duty was the victim of a act of vandalism after a passenger threw a firecracker in his cabin, causing discomfort to the hearing in the right ear. After this incident, our partner asked for withdrawal to the depot for a medical evaluation. The Central Dispatch immediately notified the emergency service 112, and the Police and Ambulance crew went to the scene,” said STPT.
