Their struggle for the control of Pictor put them against one another even as they both seemed deeply interested in finding the data log, but Darian’s messages with a highly secretive recipient only known as “X” highlighted how he truly had no interest in the Ancestor, only wanting to secure licenses around the Arctic exclusively for Pictor.
