After last week’s explosive season premiere, Way home Season 3 saved the bombs are coming In episode 2. Also, this episode officially kicked off a whole new era of the show; In 1974
In fact, that’s where the new episode kicks in. After receiving a mysterious voicemail from Alice (Sadie Laflamme-Snow) before she’s taken into the pond (the final scene of the episode), Kat (Tyler Lee) jumps right after him.
But when Kat embarks on a journey to find her daughter, Alice once again adapts easily to her new surroundings. After leaving the pond, she meets Rick and Vic Augustine, Elliot’s (Evan Williams) dad, and joins them at Coyle’s in town to surprise Colton ( Jordan Dow) with his brand new guitar. There he also meets the young and carefree Evelyn Goodwin (Devin Cecchetto) with.
Back to the present, Del (Andy McDowell) relaxes at their secret hideout. When he asks Del to reveal his crush on her, Del unfortunately doesn’t respond well. he says, “Can we take it a little longer at a time?” Fortunately, he seems to be taking it well.
In another key scene of this episode, we see how difficult the transition is for Jacob (Spencer Macpherson): “I’m sorry I couldn’t come sooner,” he says at the gravestones of his parents, Rebecca and Elijah, in 1814. “I miss you and I’m so lost here without you. How can I find my foundation when you were my foundation?”
“I’m dead in both times,” he whispers, revealing his grave nearby.
Continuing his struggle, Jacob opens up to Del. “Mom, I really miss my dad,” he said, clarifying that he meant Elijah, not Colton. “You hate the pond, but I can’t. It gave me a family that I love,” he explains.
“The pond took your childhood from me and gave it to someone else,” Del replies.
Then, after an unexpected turn of events, Jacob explains why he’s back. “I feel guilty for missing that life when I have this one with you, but it’s a gift I don’t deserve,” he said. : “In 1814 I was not a good person, I stole. Yes, from people who deserved it, but I did bad things. Things I can’t take back I put my family in danger. I should have been arrested, I almost was. The truth is, I didn’t choose to come home to you, Mom, I had to.”
Of course, the news is heartbreaking for Del, who is still getting used to his son after being missing for decades. “You were a good sweet boy who knew right from wrong, and you loved us fiercely,” he said now I’m trying to protect someone I don’t know.”
In the next scene, we go back to 1974, when Alice joins Colton, Rick, and Evelyn at their summer kickoff party on the beach.
As it turns out, Evelyn and Colton weren’t just close friends at the time. “They’ve had their tongue,” Rick tells Alice, who can’t help but see it, but we all know they’re going to be together :
Then, teenage Del (Julia Tomaso) shows up at the party. “I see my cottage guest has found me,” says Evelyn, “everyone, it’s Delilah Watson.”
On the surface, it was love at first sight for Colton. All night she just watches Del from a distance, hoping never to go. “The longer I sit here, the longer I hope,” she tells Rick.
But, with some persistence, Colton makes his way to her.
“Hello, beer,” he says. “You’re right, it is,” jokes Del.
After a hostile back and forth, Colton gets the message and backs off. “Don’t say I never offered you anything,” he says. “I don’t know your name.” that you are making moves, Delilah.
As they continue their conversation, the tension begins to rise again.
“What, you’re not a disco fan?” he says. “I’m a musician, so no,” he replies. “There’s no substance to this stuff, you know. You’re not going to cry your eyes out. It’s not music I mean, unless you’re deaf or something.”
“So you’re the guy,” he says. “The guy who hates something just because everyone else loves it. Well guess what Colton. I adore disco.” And I am very similar to it. I’m funny, I’m very popular, so by that logic…” he says, turning around were not roses.
Fast forward to the present, Kat barely makes it to her book party, giving a pep talk about Susanna’s story, but is interrupted by Evelyn’s son, Louis Goodwin, “Even though I didn’t grow up here, Port Haven is close to my heart,” she says. “That’s why I’ll be opening Goodwin Vineyards later this year.”
“This is my family, Mrs. Landry, you’re rewriting our history,” she charges.
Jacob then calls in, sharing his experiences with Cyrus Goodwin, “What makes you such an expert?” Louis asks. “Because I lived it.”
While the room is stunned and confused, Sam interrupts and diffuses the situation. Our knight and shining armor.
After the launch, she and Del are heartbroken. As she agrees to go public with their relationship, she responds by saying she’s leaving town for a bit. “It’s because I didn’t say ‘I love you,’ right?” he says “Because I am, I just get caught up in my head.” Talk about a relationship milestone.
To end the episode, as always, Way home left us with some serious shocks.
The first occurred when the Landrys reunited, listening to a recording of Colton and Alice together. “That’s my love story, too.” “Maybe it’s to see if he knows anything about time travel and the pond,” Kat says.
Then, in a surprise we’ve never seen, Elliott discovers that his uncle Rick died in 1974 after the summer kickoff party.
Alice then gets up and reveals that she’s there. “Colton would have gone with her, but he took me home instead,” Alice says, putting the pieces together. “You saved Dad’s life,” Kat adds.
Excited, Alice turns and runs to the pond. Knowing how close Colton and Evelyn are to Rick, he knows he has to be there for them. But when he gets out of the pond, he finds Colton out too. Is he tripping? In time. He’s been around all this time. When will we know?
We should be in tune next week for all the answers.
