The Turbulent Timeways event in World of Warcraft is a special celebration where players can revisit older game expansions through Timewalking dungeons for a limited time. Over several weeks, different expansions are highlighted each week, letting you experience past content with adjusted difficulty and rewards that fit the current game. This event brings back memories and gives you a chance to earn unique mounts, achievements, and gear upgrades.
While exploring these themed dungeons, you receive a special experience bonus to encourage you to discover more. There’s also a progression system in place that requires you to participate regularly to unlock special rewards. Basically, this event is about more than just running dungeons; it’s a journey into the game’s history. It’s a great way to see why WoW is considered one of the greatest video games of all time.

When you complete these Timewalking dungeons, you earn a buff called Knowledge of Timeways, which gives you extra experience points. If you gather four of these stacks, you’ll receive Mastery of Timeways, boosting your experience gain for three hours. You need to collect this buff over at least five different weeks if you want to unlock the Timely Buzzbee mount.
Each weekly event also has a special mount you can buy from Timewalking vendors for 5,000 Timewarped Badges and the Sandy Shalewing mount that’s also up for purchase. There are weekly quests from Dornogal that offer higher-level gear, making it a great time to improve your character’s equipment. The event’s main aim is to finish the weekly dungeon runs to earn the Timely Buzzbee mount and get the weekly rewards.
Turbulent Timeways Event Rewards
Mounts & High-Level Gear
The Turbulent Timeways event in World of Warcraft comes with unique rewards that go beyond the normal Timewalking loot. You can earn a brand-new Timely Buzzbee mount during this event, which is a recolored version of an older mount, and mounts available in past Timewalking events. There’s also a special buff that encourages players to run multiple dungeons within the week, as doing so increases the experience gained from quests and kills.
These kinds of events happen pretty often, but there’s a great reason why, even after 20 years, it’s not too late to start playing World of Warcraft, and such events give newer players a facsimile of running these dungeons when they were new.
Additionally, there’s a weekly quest that rewards players with higher-level gear. These incentives are designed for those who want new mounts and active players looking for better equipment. Turbulent Timeways turns Timewalking from a casual activity into an exciting event with better rewards, motivating players to revisit older content and engage in group play. Since this event is time-limited, completing your goals before they end is essential.
How To Get The Timely Buzzbee Mount
Unlocked Through The Master Of The Turbulent Timeways II Achievement
You need to participate over several weeks to get the Timely Buzzbee mount during the Turbulent Timeways event in World of Warcraft. You can’t buy the mount; you can only earn it by completing the Master of the Turbulent Timeways II achievement. You must gain the Mastery of Timeways buff in five different weeks of the event to achieve this.
To earn the Mastery of Timeways buff, you first need to collect four stacks of the Knowledge of Timeways buff each week. You get the Knowledge of Timeways by finishing Timewalking dungeons, with each dungeon giving you one stack. This buff gives you a 5% experience boost and lasts for two hours, so keeping your stacks active is important.
Once you have four stacks without the buff running out, it changes into the Mastery of Timeways buff. This buff provides a larger 30% experience bonus for three hours and resets its timer when you complete more timewalking dungeons. If you successfully earn the Mastery of Timeways buff for five out of the seven weeks that the Turbulent Timeways event takes place, you’ll automatically get the Master of the Turbulent Timeways II achievement and unlock the Timely Buzzbee mount.
Anyone who is uninterested in the mount or just doesn’t want to go through the dungeons can avoid this event altogether. This is a way to reminisce about how World of Warcraft has changed over the years. If you’re not interested or just have a lot to do this month, you’d be better off skipping the whole event.
