PBS Said There Is No Word About The Show Returning
The latest news for Hotel Portofino season 4 came in an official PBS blog post in July 2024 written by Alyssa Beno. In response to a comment asking if there will be a Hotel Portofino season 4, Beno responded,
“Hi Alex – no word yet from the production company on a new season of ‘Hotel Portofino.’ We’ll share updates when we get them!”

There Have Been No Official Updates About The Show
At the moment, there has been no official confirmation for Hotel Portofino season 4. There have been a few suggestions that show the creative team is still interested in returning to the series, however. The series writer, Matt Baker, mentioned that some narrative threads left hanging in season 3 would be picked up in season 4 (via Tellyvisions),
“Cecil is really going to have to confront something at the end of the season. Without spoiling what it is because it’s a big deal, it will be interesting to see how he confronts it. The fallout from that lack of communication we will be able to pick up on in Season 4.”
Baker once again teased the possibility of Hotel Portofino season 4 when discussing the ending of character arcs in season 3 and the cast getting ready for new ones (via DailyProgress),
“She’s an individual caught up in her own story rather than worrying about the broader politics of Italy. We leave season three in a place where it’s clear that some characters are coming to the end of their arc and some characters are starting a very distinctive new arc.”
So, though production has not been given the green light just yet, the creative team for Hotel Portofino seems on board to return to the series.
