With the release of Season 1 in Marvel Rivals, there is also a new event that is called Midnight Features. There are different rewards, and this is separate from the Battle Pass and is available to everyone. However, the rewards will be different as time goes on, so you will want to keep an eye on it as the Season continues.
Events are separate from the Battle Pass in Marvel Rivals in that they are another way that players can earn rewards without sinking any money into the game. However, you will have to watch the event challenges, as if you do not abide by them you will not get the rewards. This is also potentially challenging if you cannot get the hero necessary to complete the challenge.
The Midnight Features Event Explained
What It Is & How To Participate
The Midnight Features Event consists of 5 different investigations that players will have to complete through sub-challenges under each one. You will get smaller prizes for completing the challenges while completing an entire investigation will give you a bigger prize.
The Midnight Features Event started on January 10, 2025, and will end on February 7, 2025.
There are 3 challenges per investigation, and players will have to complete all of them to get the final reward. While it is not directly related to the Battle Pass, you can earn the Chrono Tokens needed to unlock various parts of the Battle Pass throughout the event.

Marvel Rivals Leaks Claim Five New Heroes Are Coming, Including Professor X, Locus & More
Marvel Rivals files allegedly show five new heroes might be coming to the roster, including some hard hitters like Professor X, Locus, and more.
You will also have to use the new Fantastic Four heroes in Marvel Rivals in specific modes to get all of the challenges. You can earn them in Competitive, Quick Match, or the Practice vs. AI mode. You have to have played as the characters indicated for the majority of the match for some of the challenges.
All Investigations & When They Unlock
Knowing When All Investigations Become Available Is Important
Currently, two of the investigations are available, with more to follow. Each one will give you a Gallery Card as a reward for completing them, as well as the rewards from the challenges.
- Blood Moon Over The Big Apple
- The Doctor’s Out… Of His Mind!
- Investigation 3 will unlock on Monday, January 13
- Investigation 4 will unlock on Wednesday, January 15
- Investigation 5 will unlock on Friday, January 17
Unlike with some of the Daily Missions and other Challenges available in Marvel Rivals, you will have to go back to the Event screen in order to unlock the rewards. It will have a small lightning strike symbol above the Event button if you have rewards waiting to be collected.
All Midnight Features Rewards
Free Rewards Is The Best Part Of Any Event
While it is unknown what the final 3 investigations will give as rewards for completing the challenges, the others are known and the grand prize for each one is known. The big rewards are as follows:
- Investigation 1: Thicker Than Blood Gallery Card
- Investigation 2: Ancient Game Gallery Card
- Investigation 3: Fall of Midtown Gallery Card
- Investigation 4: Midnight Missions Gallery Card
- Investigation 5: Reborn from Ragnorak Thor Costume
That last one is the big prize from the entire event, and it will let you get a new skin for Thor in Marvel Rivals. You can see it in the image above, where it states that it first appeared in Thor (2007) #1. It’s an interesting reward compared to the rest of the theme of the Event so far, as it primarily features darker-themed items.
However, since Loki gets a costume in the Battle Pass, it might just be that Thor also has to get a new skin in Season 1 as well. I think a more thematic costume would have been a bit better, but being reborn does have the connotation that they died first. However, the Gallery Cards are all quite nice, and it is not the only reward you get.
Blood Moon Over The Big Apple Rewards
This investigation is the first one and the strictest one in terms of hero options at the moment.

As more investigations become available, this guide will change to reflect that. This is a good way to get some extra blue Units to save up for even more skins, as well as being able to complete the Battle Pass a little faster so that it does not feel like you are scrambling to finish it at the end of the Season.
Make sure to keep your eye on the Midnight Features Event missions, however, as this Event does not last as long as the Season does and you will want to collect these rewards before they go away forever in Marvel Rivals.
