Dear Romanians,
I have enjoyed your hospitality for 32 years and since then I have been constantly fighting to take the reputation of the country abroad, multiplying in all directions this positive message: “Romania: Homeland of Mineral Waters” and this through of concrete and tangible successes!
I became so Roman by adoption for a long time!
My luck is that, for 70 years, two traditions of Democracy coexist in me simultaneously:
The first is impregnated in my DNA, being through my Greek grandparents, one of the great-grandsons of Plato, my ancestor also born in Athens and the founder of this free, representative and optimal regime. From here, from the cradle of Democracy, I inherited in my blood the genes of this sense of freedom and civil respect.
The second democratic pillar rooted me the Helvetica Confederation, with a general education received throughout my childhood, enriched with the unique right of frequent Referendums, when communities call us several times a year to participate in important decisions.
So, today I feel the need to convey a simple message:
DEMOCRACY is not a given. Nothing. On the contrary, it is claimed, organized, built and fought!
I hope, with all my heart, that the citizens of Romania understand that without Democracy first built in political parties, organized and framed in a serious way, Constitutional Democracy, as a state regime, is not possible.
Without democratically organized parties there is no democratic spirit in the constituents of the state.
I can only express one wish:
On December 1, 2024, let there be a massive popular vote!
Yes, get out in the cold, please! Don’t let your neighbor decide for your HOME
In other words, it is not possible that the voters are at the level of only 52%!
Is that what we do? One decides for two in Romania?
You want Democracy, I know it, and here is the new beginning: Let’s all go outside, even if it’s cold, and let’s vote!
I dream of “70%” as the minimum voting percentage
….because I care!
You, Sunday, December 1, have to go en masse to a participation of 75%!
Choose informed and I tell you for sure: democracy wins!
Happy birthday, Democratic Romania!
